Sterling Vance is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nine Nines Capital. With over 35 years of experience in institutional investing, Sterling began his career as an analyst at a major tier-one investment bank, eventually rising to Senior Vice President of Finance, and later serving as Chief Investment Officer before launching Nine Nines Capital in 2017.
He successfully navigated the firm through the 2020 market volatility and subsequent macroeconomic shifts, growing Nine Nines from a single fundamental equity pod into a multi-strategy powerhouse. He is recognized across the industry for his disciplined risk management and his ability to consistently deliver risk-adjusted returns for the firm's limited partners across all market cycles.
Outside of the firm, Sterling is a dedicated philanthropist, serving as a major donor to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and actively supporting childhood education initiatives. He resides in Manhattan with his wife, Eleanor, and their three children. He is also a passionate collector of contemporary post-war art.
